Good experience. Fried green BLT was good. Double bacon burger was good. Fries weren't amazing but not bad, maybe a little salty. Service was good. Nice spot for southern feel.

Wish I could rate the meals separately, my wife and I split a burger and fried green tomato sandwich. Burger was your standard 3.75-4 star burger, good but nothing special, that or maybe im to critical judging cheeseburgers, nonetheless the burger judgement comes from decades of personal cheeseburger gluttony so take what you will. B/L/Green tomato sandwich was 4.25-4.5, if it had a little remoulade sauce would be 4.75-5. Bacon was cooked perfectly. Now lets talk about the experience, theres a rope swing which is big bonus I mean are you going to go to a restaurant that doesnt have a rope swing if you can go to one with a rope swing, capitol F no. There's also goats which are very personable, a pig which we didnt find, and peacocks and turkeys which were fun to observe. Pretty sure one of the turkeys was a hybrid raptor turkey. Service was five star, beautiful group of ladies who were polite, courteous and on it... bodacious boss servers serving it hot.
If your a country kind a person like me & my family & you like good southern country style food & chill atmosphere, laid back, peaceful, relaxing place you'll love this place! Animals & livestock here for guests to interact which was my favorite part! I loved on those animals much as I could. Especially mr Billie Bangs! My new favorite goat friend! He is my favorite Goat! He's very distinctive in appearance and those big old pretty light brown and hazel eyes! All the goats were sweet as pie. They love attention and to be rubbed & fed. I would suggest having pet food for the animals for guest to feed them. The chickens, the roosters, peacocks, the fattest prettiest turkey I think I ever seen! Rabbits pigs. This is my new go to place! Me and my mom and grandmother from NC really enjoyed this place! Appreciate definitely spread word around. This was a place I'd been searching for to go to and they are dog friendly with well behaved dogs. You can also rent out the tiny sheds for a mini vacay getaway. I recommend it! My server was Jennifer and she was great! I had a cheeseburger plate, my grams had beef over rice and gravy dinner and my mom had the grilled chicken salad. My grandma had the carrot cake slice. Ill get cake and icecream next time! I plan to come back very soon! I had a good time, we all did. This is old fashioned mom pops kind of place! I want to thank all that work there and doing all you do. It made our weekend special! Thank you! I will be bragging on you to the locals and out of towners.
Perfect country diner- our waitress greeted us as soon as we walked in the door, very friendly and she made sure we had plenty of refills and anything else we needed. Our food came out hot and fresh. We loved it so much we came back the following morning/early lunch. Once again same result. If you’re in the area stop in , relax and enjoy some home cooked food. You will not be disappointed
We recently visited the Country House Cafe in Travelers Rest and were pleasantly surprised! We both had the cheeseburger platters, which were absolutely delicious, and the coleslaw on the side was amazing. Our waiter, CJ, was fantastic—personable and gave great recommendations that made our meal even better!
We have stopped by here a number of times and the service is always excellent. It is the classic mom and pop kind of place that gives good portions, traditional meal options, and makes you feel good when you visit them. Give it a shot!
Country House Cafe is a fantastic gem in the Travelers Rest area. The food is delicious. The servers and owner are fantastic. And the atmosphere is in the name... country. I even saw a wild turkey while I was there. Definitely a must for family dining. Don't forget the awesome desserts too.
